So, on my way out of the hotel parking lot on my way home from the 31st annual Pacific Coast Nationals at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway, I spotted the Loyet Motorsports hauler, so I stopped by and chatted with them for a little bit. After I started to chat with the crew for a little bit, a homeless guy came walking by looking in aw at the midget. After a minute of us pumping the guy up, one of the crew guys walked to the front of the trailor and came back with a t-shirt for the guy. Without hesitation, the guy took his leather jacket off and put on his new Loyet Motorsports t-shirt on over his sweatshirt. Then Joe, team owner, inivted the homeless guy to take a look inside the #o5 midget and the guy was more then happy too. After a minute of the guy in awe, Joe invited the guy to climb into the #o5 midget. It took him a minute to squeeze into the driver seat, but when he got into the seat finally he looked like a natural. The rest of the crew were having fun watching the guy act like he was in a race and cutting people off trying to pass him.
After about 15 to 20 minutes, a friend of the homeless guy was spotted looking at what were doing and the Joe waived him over , so he came over to the hauler while pushing his shopping cart. When got to the hauler, Joe asked if he want some work done on his cart, so he got out a jack and sprayed WD-40 in the wheel bearings trying to make it the fastest shopping cart in all of Tulare County. He also was given a Loyet Motorsports t-shirt. And just like the other guy, he was invited to climb into the #o5 midget and he was more then happy to oblige.
Once they were able to get the 2nd of the guys out of the midget, Joe wanted had some photos taken of the newest members of Loyet Motorsports. After the guys were telling us how greatful they were for us not to run them away and jsut sit down and listen to them for a while, we gave them some drinks and pretzels and they were on there way. This is one day I will never forget. Thanks for the memories Loyet Motorsports and the one and only Duck and Goose.
